Yesterday evening was cold, sunny and quite windy.
I drove on the road between the beach and the airport, and as so many times before the road was covered with sand.
One of the airport busses struggled ( I just hope the passengers and their luggage made it to the airport on time.)
I noticed the tow truck was there on my way back. (when I drove back.)
It is actually even worse when it is dark, then people who can't manage to walk on the pavement, walk out on the road.
Wow impressive!
ReplyDeleteGosh it must have been incredibly windy to get all that sand up there onto the roads Gunn, I guess that sunny beach day from a few posts back has been and gone :( Your young archeologist from yesterday ID doing the job I would have loved to do. Discovering really old things would be soooooo exciting!
ReplyDeleteThat is a mess! I'm glad you made it OK. I know riding bikes in sand is very difficult and I've gotten my car stuck in the sand dunes by a beach...it's tricky stuff!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly looks like a mess. That's one issue we don't see here.
ReplyDeleteDrifting sand on the road?? Somehow it is not something I would have imagined in your neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of snow drifts when I lived in Alaska. It must of been very windy to get that much sand on the road.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...
ReplyDeletelooks like Stavanger is a desert city :)
I agree with Dina, not something that I could imagine when thinking of Norway.
