Stavanger is the fourth biggest city in Norway. It is situated on the southwest coast.
My aim is to try to capture something from every day, from the area nearby too, and when I am not at home I will still try to put up a photo from my archive.
Welcome back for another look.

Not as planned...
There should have been a new conference hotel built just here, but the company changed their mind.
The land is owned by the council, so there will now be flats or houses instead.
Time will show.
Very interesting. I hope whatever is built is pleasing to the eye as well as functional. We were in (an unnamed town) in Norway this past summer and the huge housing buildings built across the fjord from the beautiful old town looks like government "projects" housing in the US. Very tacky. Really sad that the housing is so ugly across from such a picturesque dockside and tourist center.
I'm guessing no contracts were signed then Gunn, seems strange that they could just change their mind oui!
ReplyDeleteGosh, what a lovely photo. Great composition. I prefer houses and flats to hotels!

ReplyDeleteHopefully something is done with it sooner than later.

It will be interesting to see what is built.
ReplyDeleteYikes!
ReplyDeleteHopefully, whatever is built, will be good for the community.
