Potatoes.

Forty years back (or maybe even longer) there was nothing called Høstferie (Autumn holiday) for school children. It was a busy week when not only the farmers children were busy picking potatoes, but neighbours children, friends and relatives would help out too. At that time, it was called Potetferie  (potato holiday), because that was what it was really all about.

Some children must have had fun decorating this potato, seen in a small shop.

  4. That's pretty impressive. When I was little, we used to make potato men by sticking funny little plastic ears, noses and mouths into the spud - but it was not as sophisticated as that.

  5. Like Mike, I used to have a "Mister Potato Head"... brought back some memories of the little plastic noses, glasses, hats and so on... wonder if you still buy that type of game today (other than on a computer)? Will have to google it when I have finished typing this!
