Stavanger is the fourth biggest city in Norway. It is situated on the southwest coast.
My aim is to try to capture something from every day, from the area nearby too, and when I am not at home I will still try to put up a photo from my archive.
Welcome back for another look.

Out for a walk.
We were both out for a walk.
I have never seen a fluffy creature like this before.
What was it?
Someone told me that it is a caterpillar.....
Perhaps that is right?
Just a bit strange now when it is so cold.
In Brazil they are somewhat common and we call them 'hairy critter'. When I was a child I was told they burned the skin if touched, but I never knew if it is true.
Oh, yes, it is a caterpillar. We have them here in Ohio, too. :)

ReplyDeleteSome caterpillars do have a toxic touch- it's a defence mechanism. I don't know which kind this one is though...
ReplyDeleteLooks kind of like what we call woolly caterpillars here. I've seen them quite frequently recently on the C&O Canal towpath.
ReplyDeleteWe have them here in Kentucky.
ReplyDeleteMicro Poodle!

I used to hear in the States that the severity of the upcoming winter could be predicted by the length of hairs on the woolly caterpillar.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a caterpillar to me, too! Cute.
