To the left in this old photo you can see my late grandad, who would have been over 100 years old now if he had still been alive. Anyway, at that TIME, having a photograph taken was a big event! He told me he was scared stiff (look at his hand and face) because the photographer who was hiding under under a "blanket" behind this huge camera box, said that "he" was going to be sent to America..... My grandad didn't realize that it was not him, but the photo that was off to relatives in the USA....
Today kids have got thousands of photos/documentations of nearly everything that they do.....

TIMES HAVE CHANGED!

  1. A wonderful memento, I have to ask my mom if she has something like this of our elders.

  4. Super take for theme day, Gunn. I got a kick out of seeing how uncomfortable your grandfather's expression was. I'm sure he would have felt right at home if you had been photographing him :-).

  11. Yes, times have changed. Sometimes for the better, maybe (health care?), and sometimes not. I think times were tough when your grandpa was a boy. He would have been about the same age as my dad - a bit younger, perhaps.

  12. Excellent photo-within-a-photo. The ultra-modern keyboard intensifies the sense of history. Brilliant.
