Stavanger is the fourth biggest city in Norway. It is situated on the southwest coast.
My aim is to try to capture something from every day, from the area nearby too, and when I am not at home I will still try to put up a photo from my archive.
Welcome back for another look.

A manhole cover (or "Kommelokk").
This is an example of one of the more ornate manhole covers that are to be found.
I like seeing utilitarian objects that have been made beautifully. This is a particularly nice one. Is there a story to it? Maybe a local fable?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jack.
ReplyDeleteI like the cobblestones and the historic cover!

Your manhole are much more creative than ours. We have mostly cryptic lettering and only a few have a tiny coat of arms.
