This is my posting number 200 :-)
I will use this opportunity to say THANK YOU to my followers and everyone else who has taken the time to leave comments, which are always very much appreciated.
Todays photo is from Rogaland Museum of Fine Arts. It is one of the statues from "Broken Column" ( Click on the labels to see a few more of the 23 sculptures. ) They are all a copy of the artist Anthoney Gormley, and they are all placed facing 10 degrees west.

    We have an Anthony Gormley figure in Lismore Castle! He uses his body for the mould for all his sculpture figures, gets covered in clingfilm and then uses a straw to breathe thru and gets covered in Plaster and this is removed when it sets and is used as the mould for the bronze or whatever he uses to cast the figures! Seems like a lot of work but he probably gets a lot of figures from one mould!

    Very interesting method of making his sculptures, and placing them all facing 10 degrees west. I wonder what the significance of that is?

    I'm not a frequenter of art museums, but this display is intriguing. I like the way he has got the two shadows and they overlap to produce a third and darker image.

    Things just get curiouser and curiouser! Better not let me get near that thing 'cause I'm going to do what VP fears, turn it to 11 degrees and face it East.

    Ah yes I thought there was something familiar - there are some statues of him on the beach at Formby near Liverpool although I've never managed to get to see them other than in photographs.
