In Norwegian we call Father Christmas a "Nisse". Here you see a group of them who seem to be off skiing..... I hope that all of these "Father Christmas's" are back from skiing before Christmas.
It looks like it will continue snowing, and that Stavanger will have a white Christmas, it is 13 years since last that happened.
A Nisse, what an interesting name. I hope a nisse visits you.
ReplyDeleteI remember them from Denmark; don't forget to put the rice dish out for them.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a white Christmas, snow here but it fell back this morning
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for Christmas! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous!!!! I went wild in Drobak (sorry for the o) in December 1999, there were so many nisse I could have bought a whole suitcase! I would love to have one of those! It's nice to know that Christmas will be white, especially so far up north!
ReplyDeleteI don't know much, but I would have thought a white Christmas would have been the usual in Stavanger. Hmmm...I probably should catch up on my reading (or Googling!)...
ReplyDeleteI'm glad there are so many nisse as there is a lot to do and very little time!
Love the crowd of Nisse! Waist deep snow for Christmas is not the rule?
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing the Nisse, altogether ready to go out. I'm sure they'll be back for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you've framed this shot - or cropped it. Great Father Christmases...
