Out for a walk.

We were both out for a walk.

I have never seen a fluffy creature like this before.
What was it?

Someone told me that it is a caterpillar.....
Perhaps that is right?
Just a bit strange now when it is so cold.

Keep warm and enjoy the weekend!

RYFAST

A HUGE road project is going on, and will hopefully be finished in 2019.
The project is to both reduce the traffic through Stavanger centre, and to provide a better connection between the islands and the other side of the fjord. The longest subsea tunnel will be 14.3km.
This is just a small glimpse from the construction. More info. you can find here:

Work situation

The work situation for many people, especially working in the oil industry, has changed dramatically over the last year. Although the downturn started with the oil industry, it has had a knock on affect on many other businesses.
The number of unemployed people has gone up by 65% (!!) from the same time last year.
Actually, it has not been worse since 2005.

So it is good to see, like here, that some companies are optimistic and believe that the situation will be better in the foreseeable future. In this case, an oil related company that despite cutting down, are also investing in a new building.

Let us hope for the best!

Happy weekend!

Don't forget to buy some colourful flowers for yourself or to someone else.
This is from my favourite florist in town.
(I am not paid to write this, and I am abroad just now, so I will explore new florist shops.)

Happy weekend!

ZARA is here.

Yesterday ZARA opened it's doors.
From a fashionista I know, I heard about all the people who had turned up on the opening day for these fantastic clothes!
The fact that it was good quality and good prices too.... made me pop in for a look today.

More than 2000 had applied for jobs there.... So I guess the lucky ones working were very happy!

Congratulations!

PS. I do love ZARA HOME, so I wish that it will be the next shop we will get.

Friday 9 October 2015

Creativity.

The shops and kiosks are already full of magazines with ideas on what to make and how to make a cosy and perfectly decorated CHRISTMAS home.
It is OCTOBER...
Well,  I guess there must be some creative people who are in the right mood for it.

Perhaps is it the same in lot of other countries?

Thursday 8 October 2015

Potatoes.

Forty years back (or maybe even longer) there was nothing called Høstferie (Autumn holiday) for school children. It was a busy week when not only the farmers children were busy picking potatoes, but neighbours children, friends and relatives would help out too. At that time, it was called Potetferie  (potato holiday), because that was what it was really all about.

Some children must have had fun decorating this potato, seen in a small shop.

Wednesday 7 October 2015

Business Lounge.

Today was the day when the airport opened the brand new and modern Business Lounge. You will find it near Gate 12, if you are travelling abroad.

Stranded whale at the beach.

I saw something unusual near the beach today, a large whale that had been stranded.
