Perhaps a sign to remember...... ?
Seen just outside a tattoo parlor.

The postman, Mamadu Saido Balde, is driving the smartest POST car I have ever seen.
He is from Portugal, and speaks Portugese, Spanish, French, English AND Norwegian!
I forgot to ask if he uses this kind of vehicle in the winter.
Anyway, it looks fun to drive!

NO, it was not my husband who dropped the cat!!!

It was a tiny little cat, full of energy, jumping UP more than walking, and me with the camera.....

Catching a moment is not always easy!:)

Sunday, 23 September 2012

Our 3rd. day, not warm, but bright and sunny!
I just LOVE it!

Lot's of people have used the weekend outside.
This is from a place that those of you who have followed my blog might remember, click on the word AFTER labels,
and you will see many more photos.

It is south of Stavanger, on the coast with a view out to the North Sea.

Saturday, 22 September 2012

Old plates seen at the flee market in Stavanger today.
It is a popular place to hunt for old treasures.

Friday, 21 September 2012

Early morning and in to the roadwork area again.
Bright and sunny the whole day!
And the temperature went all the way to +11C.
Tonight I am off to see the film "Kon -Tiki" and to take a drink or two in town.

The owner and his car.

Todays biggest surprise!
THANK YOU so much, Britt!:)

Tuesday, 18 September 2012

It is nice and sunny from time to time, and sometimes too much rain.
Not many people sitting outside the cafes these days......
Getting colder now .
Time for woolen clothes.

Monday, 17 September 2012

One thing to remember is that the petrol-prices are at it lowest on MONDAYS, (14.76 litre) Some even use their lunch break to fill up the tank.

Sunday, 16 September 2012

The area outside the new concert house, can also be used as a stage, and thousands of spectators can enjoy music sitting around here.
I think that will be great! Just looking forward to it, on warm evenings in the spring and summer season.

Saturday, 15 September 2012

This is the most sensible footwear at this time of the year.

Friday, 14 September 2012

Not much more to say today....
But hopefully feeling much better tomorrow!
To all CDP'ers, have a good weekend.

Looks like one of the new students have created a new HOME !:)

Wednesday, 12 September 2012

Our big local wood SØRMARKA, has a group of "friends" who I often see when I am out walking there.
They are busy cutting trees, and doing all sorts of work to make the place nice and comfortable.
Anyway, today I took a photo of one of the busy men who do a good bit of work!
You can read and look at the images on their homepage here:

A view from the new concert house, looking out to the harbor.

New books presented at a meeting last night, here with Anne Gaathaug from Kagge (the publishing company) and the policeman and writer Jørn Lier Horst.
"Dregs" is the title of one of his books that has been translated to English.
Always interesting to meet and hear the writers talk about their books!
Who is your favorite author of crime fiction??

Monday, 10 September 2012

The artist Åsa Maria Bengtsson has created cultural connections with the way her work are shown at each of the five entrances to and from the parking facility area at the new concert hall.
Carpet patterns and plenty of universal symbols are put in the colorful glass mosaic.

Sunday, 9 September 2012

Another image from the vernissage.
This time tasty food on brand new plates. "mingle tallerkener" from Figgjo, where you can add a glass of wine on the plate, and walk and talk at the same time.

Saturday, 8 September 2012

The Mayor of Stavanger, Christine Sagen Helgø, was one of many who gave a speech at the vernissage.

Friday, 7 September 2012

I was invited to a vernissage at the New Concert House.
Interesting to see and hear about the artists who have created events and art that we will have for many many years. Here you can see a glimpse around the entrance area.

Thursday, 6 September 2012

Yesterday I saw a guy who was definitely not an A4 type.
But more smart and trendy!
I wish I had the nerve to go and ask him to take a photo of him, but I didn't.
So please forgive me young man. I hope you will take this as a compliment, for that is what it is meant to be. There are far too many of us on the planet who look the same.

Wednesday, 5 September 2012

It feels like the summer is over.

Tuesday, 4 September 2012

We were all hiding for the RAIN, and I could not help for taking a photo before we continued the walk.
Unfortunately, I can not find their names, that the owner gave me, and I wrote on my iPhone....

Monday, 3 September 2012

"HAUGE på torget" is an old established menswear shop who are now selling the family business to make way for yet another burger bar.
I think it is sad that more and more small family shops are disappearing.

Take a look at this link

From Worcester to Stavanger.

It has probably been on the wall for years, outside the main post office, but I have never seen it before.
